This is what we are using for our understanding of life. Sometimes you are called for service, and sometimes you are served. An observable truth is that the people on the planet that find a way to provide service to more than themselves, are generally more well off and have more blessings. It can be seen at micro levels like relationships and friendshis, or macro levels in business and community. Loving partners that serve each other in various ways are usually in stronger and happier relationships than the formula of someone giving all and being used by a user that settles with someone that may not even be their type just out of convenience. And on a macro level, take an entrepreneur that finds a way to provide a hundred jobs to others. The business owner or CEO usually has more in life because the service provided is employment for many. These are just two examples. And look at military service, regardless of difficulty for some, when you dedicate to service, they carve easier paths for you on house loans, travel, medical insurance, and more. There are always exceptions of course. But mostly, life works in a very similar way. When life calls, if you choose to perform the act of service needed from you, later on, the blessings come.

Many times I see people with a mind set of feeling that they need to get one over on the other person, or they will do the same. The added attention to the potential risk of performing service leads to something we see in society today. Our time and emotions, or our energy has an economy to it. Then people assume their own emotional value without fairly looking at what products or service that their energy provides. This then causes a deficit in there connection with others, or their “business“ and then they get bitter, closed off, or paranoid and they close. This is the path of the dark side in the movie starwars. “Fear leads to anger. Anger leads to hate. Hate leads to suffering“. The issue is that many always ask, “how will this serve me?“, and rarely complete the circuit of the entire process with the added, “how can I be of service to this?“. It takes both. Performing Acts of service takes your time in the moment, and the reward or consequence usually happens later, so often times it doesn’t seem even. And often times it is not. But it does balance over time. Think of it as time compressed into an account of service, gaining interest the more you put into it. And payouts happen over time. Some call this Karma. And the word karma is derived from a sanskrit word meaning action or deed.

People think they deserve either royal treatment, or they are willing to settle for bad situations. And this starts with how valuable they think of themselves. Well, I purpose that everyone’s value of life is the same at the start and their actions and their quality of character determines the inflation or deflation of value. Not how they think of themselves, but of what they put forth into the world (although you should always work on having high self value). So with that, I present a balanced affirmation that any can use...

“I will provide my absolute best to serve others, and I will allow myself to be served.“
